You know what you're getting when you duck into this branch on Knowsley Street, and sometimes that's exactly what you need. Whether it's a post-night out Big Mac at half past ten or grabbing breakfast before tackling the town centre shops, this McDonald's does the job without any nasty surprises. The staff here seem to have their act together more than some other branches I could mention, and they've clearly cottoned on to the fact that getting your order wrong when you're hungover is basically a war crime. It's nothing fancy, obviously, but it's clean, the chips are usually hot, and you're not stood about for ages waiting for your food. Sometimes that's all you want from a McDonald's.
