You can't beat the location – perched right on East Beach with the English Channel stretching out before you, this is where proper seaside fish and chips happens. The queue often snakes along Undercliff Drive, especially on sunny weekends when half of Bournemouth decides they fancy cod and chips by the sea. The batter's reliably crisp, the portions are generous, and yes, you're paying a bit extra for the prime seafront spot, but that's the trade-off. Grab your wrapped bundle and find a bench facing the pier – watching the world go by while demolishing a proper portion of chips with the waves lapping nearby is peak Bournemouth. The mushy peas are decent too, though purists might argue they're not quite Yorkshire standard.
