Park Street's basement club where Bristol's alternative crowd gathers for proper DJ sets and drinks that won't bankrupt you.
intimateindustrialbuzzyquirkynight club
You'll find this basement club halfway down Park Street's steep slope, marked by nothing more than a discreet sign that keeps the uninitiated walking past. The stairs lead down into a dimly lit space that feels like someone's converted cellar - which it probably was - complete with exposed brick and low ceilings that trap the bass just right.
The crowd here skews properly alternative: art students from UWE mixing with seasoned ravers who've been coming since the early 2000s. They book DJs who actually understand electronic music rather than just playing chart bangers, and the bar serves decent drinks without the inflated prices you'd expect elsewhere in Clifton. It's not trying to be flashy or Instagram-ready, which is exactly why it works.
