Rough Trade Bristol

Legendary record shop with a brilliant cafe upstairs serving proper coffee and brilliant toasties while you browse vinyl treasures.

You'll climb the stairs past towers of vinyl to find one of the city's most unexpectedly good cafes. The coffee here is genuinely excellent – they take it as seriously as they do their music curation downstairs. The toasties are proper crispy-on-the-outside affairs, and there's usually a decent selection of cakes that disappear quickly among the music nerds and Nelson Street workers who've cottoned on to this spot. The atmosphere buzzes with the energy of people discovering new albums, meeting friends, or just settling in with a laptop and the soundtrack of vinyl being flicked through below. It's the kind of place where you pop in for a quick coffee and emerge two hours later with three records and plans to see a band you'd never heard of.
