The Knights Templar - JD Wetherspoon
Massive Wetherspoons in a converted church with soaring ceilings, cheap pints, and surprisingly decent atmosphere for the chain.

You walk into what feels like a cathedral and remember you're just here for a £3 pint. This converted church keeps much of its original grandeur – those vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows make it one of the more atmospheric Spoons you'll find anywhere. The usual suspects are all here: curry club on Thursdays, endless coffee refills, and that particular brand of daytime drinkers who've made Wetherspoons their second home.
Yes, it's still a Wetherspoons with all that entails – sticky carpets, the app-based ordering, and food that arrives suspiciously quickly. But there's something oddly charming about necking a cheap Doom Bar surrounded by medieval history. The staff are sound, it's handy for pre-drinks before hitting King Street, and honestly, where else can you get a pint and a burger for under a tenner in central Bristol?
