You'll find yourself lingering longer than planned at this St George spot, where mismatched furniture and plants create the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to settle in with a book. The coffee's excellent – they know their way around an espresso machine – and the food goes well beyond standard café fare without trying too hard. The team here genuinely seem to care about what they're serving, whether that's a perfectly steamed milk jug or a slice of whatever cake they've baked that morning. It's the sort of place where regulars have their usual table and newcomers immediately feel welcome, which isn't always easy to pull off.
