The Dome
Grand Georgian banking hall turned all-day brasserie with soaring domed ceiling and properly impressive weekend brunch.

Walking into this converted Regency banking hall on George Street feels like stepping onto a film set – all soaring columns, ornate plasterwork, and that spectacular glass dome overhead. The sheer scale of the space could easily feel intimidating, but somehow it works brilliantly as an all-day dining spot where you can nurse a coffee for hours or settle in for a proper dinner.
The menu covers all the brasserie classics without trying to be too clever, and they do a cracking weekend brunch that draws queues of New Town locals and visitors alike. Yes, you're paying for the setting as much as the food, but when that setting includes one of Edinburgh's most beautiful interiors, it's hard to complain. The service keeps pace with the grandeur too.
