Bier Halle

Proper German beer hall on Gordon Street with excellent lagers, hearty schnitzel and that communal table energy you actually want.

🍴 Germanlivelycasualtraditionalbuzzybar
You walk down Gordon Street and suddenly there's this slice of Bavaria sitting between the chain stores and office buildings. The long wooden tables and German flags might look a bit theme-park at first glance, but once you're settled with a proper half-litre of Augustiner and watching the after-work crowd pile in, it all makes perfect sense. The beer selection is genuinely impressive – none of that weak lager nonsense you get elsewhere in the city centre. They know their German brewing and it shows in every pour. The schnitzel's massive enough to share (though you won't want to), and the currywurst hits different when you're three steins deep on a Friday night. It's touristy, sure, but locals have claimed it too because sometimes you just want decent beer and proper sausages without any faffing about.
