Lebowskis

You'll spot the Big Lebowski references before you even get through the door on Argyle Street. This Finnieston stalwart has been doing the film-themed pub thing since before it became tired, and somehow it still works brilliantly. The bowling alley aesthetic isn't trying too hard, and neither is the menu. The kitchen knows what it's about – massive loaded nachos, proper buffalo wings, and burgers that actually require both hands. Their White Russian variations are spot-on (obviously), but the beer selection runs deep too. It's the sort of place where you pop in for one pint and somehow end up closing the place down, partly because the staff genuinely seem to enjoy working there. In a strip of Argyle Street packed with trendy newcomers, Lebowskis just keeps doing its thing well.
