You climb the stairs wondering if this is worth the hype, then step onto the terrace and immediately get it. The Spanish tiles, trailing plants, and string lights create an atmosphere that's part Barcelona balcony, part secret garden – and it works brilliantly even when the Yorkshire weather isn't playing ball. The small plates are properly thought through rather than token tapas efforts. Order the jamón croquettes and thank me later, then work through their surprisingly decent wine list while watching the city sprawl out below. It gets rammed on weekends (book ahead), but even on a quiet Tuesday, there's something special about eating patatas bravas while looking out over the rooftops of LS1.
