You'll smell the beef hitting the griddle before you even spot the shopfront on Bishopgate Street. Inside, it's all exposed brick and industrial fittings – the kind of place that knows its burgers are the star and doesn't need to dress things up too much. The smashed patties here are genuinely excellent – thin, crispy edges with proper beef flavour that most burger joints seem to have forgotten about. Their loaded fries deserve equal billing though, piled high with toppings that somehow manage to be indulgent without being sloppy. The portions are generous enough that you'll probably regret ordering sides, but the sweet potato fries are worth the food coma.
