Pump House

You'll find this converted Victorian pumphouse right on the Albert Dock waterfront, and yes, the location is touristy, but don't let that put you off. The building itself has genuine character – think exposed brick, industrial touches, and those massive windows that frame the dock perfectly. It's Greene King, so temper your craft beer expectations, but the setting more than makes up for it. Come for a pint after wandering the galleries, or settle in for their eclectic menu that ranges from pub classics to more adventurous fare. The outdoor seating is prime real estate on sunny days, though even inside you're surrounded by enough maritime history to feel properly Liverpudlian. It's touristy without being cynical about it.
