Albert's Schloss - Manchester
Raucous Bavarian beer hall with proper German grub, live oompah bands, and steins that'll test your biceps.

You'll hear the oompah band before you see the lederhosen. This sprawling Bavarian beer hall takes over a grand Victorian building on Peter Street, complete with communal wooden tables, waitresses in dirndls, and enough Alpine kitsch to make you question whether you've accidentally wandered into Munich.
The schnitzel is proper – massive, golden, and hanging off the plate like it's trying to escape. Pair it with a stein of Augustiner and you're sorted. Yes, it's theatrical bordering on pantomime, but when the accordion kicks in at 9pm and everyone's singing along to Sweet Caroline (somehow this works), you'll stop caring about authenticity. Book ahead for weekends unless you fancy queuing with the hen dos.
