Dishoom Manchester
Bombay café culture recreated in a gorgeous Art Deco setting with top-tier curries and the city's best black daal.
🍴 Modern Indiantrendybuzzysophisticatedlivelyrestaurant
You walk into what feels like a 1920s Bombay café that's been lovingly transported to Bridge Street, complete with ceiling fans whirring overhead and vintage Bollywood posters adorning dark wood panelling. The stained glass windows catch the light beautifully, but you're here for the food – and rightly so.
The black daal alone justifies the inevitable queue (yes, they don't take bookings for groups under six). It's been slow-cooked for 24 hours until it reaches an almost indecent level of richness. Pair it with their house naan and you'll understand why people plan their evenings around this place. The breakfast menu deserves equal praise – their bacon and egg naan roll has converted many a sceptic to the joys of Indian breakfast.
