The Old Wellington
Manchester's wonkiest pub sits in a genuine Tudor building that's been pouring pints since the 1800s, complete with slanted floors and real ales.

You'll spot this black-and-white Tudor beauty from across Cathedral Gardens – it's the one that looks like it's had a few too many itself, all wonky beams and crooked angles. The building genuinely dates back to the 1300s and was physically moved here in the 1970s when the Arndale development threatened to flatten it. Inside, the floors slope at angles that'll make you question your sobriety before you've even ordered.
The bar stocks a proper selection of real ales alongside the usual suspects, and the food does what good pub grub should – fills the gaps between pints without trying to be clever. On sunny days, grab one of the outdoor tables and watch tourists do double-takes at the building's delightfully disheveled appearance.
