You'll spot this place easily enough - it's the handsome red-brick building practically on top of Trent Bridge, with views across the Trent that make you remember why you live here. The brewing tanks gleaming behind glass tell you everything about their priorities, and the house ales are genuinely excellent, particularly their IPA which has the kind of hoppy punch that keeps you coming back.
The kitchen takes pub classics seriously without getting precious about them. Their burgers are proper thick patties that need both hands, the fish and chips come with mushy peas that taste like someone's nan made them, and the Sunday roasts draw queues for good reason. It gets rammed during cricket matches, obviously, but on quieter evenings it's the kind of place where you pop in for one pint and somehow end up staying for dinner.
