You'll find this Victorian corner boozer doing what it's always done best – serving proper beer to proper people. The difference now is they're brewing it themselves, and doing a bloody good job of it too. The house ales rotate regularly, from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts, all crafted upstairs and poured fresh downstairs. The interior hasn't been sanitised by some corporate makeover team, which means you get wonky floors, original features, and the kind of authentic pub atmosphere that's becoming harder to find. It's the sort of place where regulars prop up the bar debating the merits of the latest batch, while newcomers quickly realise they've stumbled onto something special. The beer's the star here, but the welcome's warm and the prices haven't been inflated by trendy microbrewery status.
