The usual Wetherspoons formula plays out across multiple levels of a building that's seen better days, but the location couldn't be more central if it tried. The crowds here are properly mixed – students nursing single pints for hours, office workers grabbing quick lunches, and tourists who've stumbled in from the square looking slightly bewildered. The food arrives with that trademark Wetherspoons efficiency, and while it won't win any awards, it fills the gap without emptying your wallet. Sure, it lacks character, but when you need a cheap drink in the dead centre of town, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
