The Magic Garden

You'll spot this place by the fairy lights and botanical murals sprawling across the Low Pavement frontage, but step inside and you're transported into what feels like a tipsy botanist's fever dream. The Magic Garden takes its theme seriously without being naff about it – think trailing vines, mismatched vintage furniture, and cocktails served in everything from jam jars to miniature watering cans. The drinks menu reads like poetry, with concoctions that taste as good as they photograph. Their seasonal cocktails actually change with the seasons (revolutionary, I know), and the bartenders know their way around both classic serves and theatrical flourishes. It gets properly rammed on weekends, but that's because locals have cottoned on to the fact that this is one of the few places in the city centre doing something genuinely different.
