Sheffield Water Works Company (Lloyds No.1 Bar)
This grand Spoons occupies a stunning Victorian waterworks building with soaring ceilings and original features that make you forget it's a chain.

You'll do a double-take walking into this place on Division Street – it's hard to believe something this architecturally magnificent houses a Wetherspoons. The soaring Victorian ceilings, original stonework, and grand windows of the former Sheffield Water Works Company create an atmosphere that's genuinely impressive, even if the menu's exactly what you'd expect.
The beer selection's solid and ridiculously cheap, making it a reliable pre-night out spot before hitting West Street or the bars around Devonshire Quarter. Yes, it gets absolutely rammed at weekends with the usual Spoons crowd, but there's something quite brilliant about nursing a £2.50 pint while surrounded by such beautiful industrial heritage. The building does most of the heavy lifting here.
