You know that Costa on Northgate that's always rammed with Trinity students cramming for exams and mums catching up over flat whites? That's this one. Positioned perfectly for catching people heading to or from the cathedral quarter, it's become the de facto waiting room for anyone meeting in town centre.
The upstairs seating area is where the magic happens - proper tables where you can spread out your laptop without elbowing the person next to you. Yes, it's standard Costa fare with the usual suspects (£3.50 for a large latte, paninis that taste like cardboard), but the staff here actually seem to give a toss, and the WiFi doesn't cut out every five minutes like some places. It's not going to change your life, but when you need somewhere warm and caffeinated on Northgate, it does the job without any fuss.
