ibis Aberdeen Centre - Quayside
Hotel restaurant overlooking the harbour that actually gets it right with proper Scottish ingredients and no tourist menu nonsense.

You wouldn't expect much from a hotel restaurant, especially one tucked into an ibis, but this Shiprow spot consistently surprises. The dining room makes the most of those harbour views, and the kitchen takes Scottish produce seriously without the usual tartan-clad theatrics you'll find elsewhere in the city centre.
The menu changes seasonally but always leans into proper local suppliers - think Aberdeenshire beef done properly, not the overpriced tourist fodder you'll get up on Union Street. Staff actually know their wine list, and the breakfast spread is genuinely decent if you're staying over. It's become a reliable option when you want something straightforward but well-executed without the faff of booking weeks ahead.
