You'd be surprised how decent the bakery section at this Berryden Road Sainsbury's actually is. While you're doing your weekly shop, the smell of fresh bread and croissants wafts over from the in-store bakery, and frankly, their sourdough gives some of the city centre independents a run for their money. The selection runs from proper crusty loaves and seeded batch bread to decent Chelsea buns and surprisingly good brownies. It's nothing fancy, but when you need fresh bread at 9pm on a Tuesday or want a birthday cake that doesn't cost a fortune, this place delivers. The staff actually know when the bread comes out of the ovens, and they're not shy about telling you when something's just been baked.
