The Glengower

You'll find yourself on Victoria Terrace, that quietly charming stretch just back from the seafront, pushing through the door of what looks like a traditional local but absolutely isn't. The Glengower has done that tricky thing of staying unpretentious whilst serving the sort of food that makes you wonder why you bothered with chain restaurants. The dining room's got that warm, lived-in feel—wood-panelled, decent lighting, not trying too hard—and the bar runs the length of one wall like it should. It's where locals actually eat, not Instagram eaters, which means the kitchen's constantly proving itself to people who know their stuff.
