West Street's got a few contenders, but The Ill Repute has quietly become the sort of place you keep coming back to without really planning it. You know the type—unpretentious, genuinely welcoming, the kind of bar where the staff remembers your name by drink two. It's got character without trying too hard, and there's clearly a reason 310-odd people have rated it nearly five stars. The drinks list takes itself seriously enough without being wanky about it, and the crowd feels properly mixed: students, professionals, the regulars who've been nursing pints since opening.
