Pavilion Gardens, Buxton

You'll wander in off St John's Road and suddenly feel like you've stepped into a proper 19th-century fantasy. The Pavilion itself is impossible to miss—all wrought iron and decorative glasswork, the kind of thing that makes you understand why Victorians were obsessed with showing off their engineering. The whole place sprawls across the slope with meticulously tended borders, a conservatory that actually makes you want to stay inside, and enough quiet corners to escape the town centre chaos. It's genuinely special because it isn't trying too hard. Locals bring their kids, couples picnic on the grass, gardeners come to actually study the planting schemes. The views over Buxton are decent too, especially if you drift towards the upper terraces.
