Boom Battle Bar Canterbury

You walk into what feels like a cross between a bowling alley and a trendy cocktail bar, all neon lights and industrial fittings down by the Riverside. The concept shouldn't work - axe throwing, beer pong, and proper drinks all under one roof - but somehow it absolutely does. The cocktails are surprisingly decent (none of that sugary nonsense you'd expect), and watching someone's nan absolutely demolish the competition at axe throwing while sipping a proper gin and tonic is peak Canterbury entertainment. It gets properly lively on weekend evenings when the post-work crowd morphs into birthday party territory, but even midweek there's enough energy to make you forget you're just off Kingsmead Road. The staff know their drinks and don't take themselves too seriously, which is exactly what you want when you're trying to hit a bullseye after two pints.
