Lady Luck
A properly good boozer on St Peter's Street that knows exactly what it is - great pints, proper atmosphere, and none of the tourist trap nonsense.

You walk into Lady Luck and immediately clock that this is a pub that actually gets it. Tucked along St Peter's Street, it's got that rare combination of being central without feeling like it's trying to fleece every punter who walks through the door. The beer selection is spot on - proper ales alongside the usual suspects - and the atmosphere shifts brilliantly from afternoon pint territory to proper night out energy.
What makes it work is the locals-to-visitors ratio that somehow never tips too far either way. You'll find uni students nursing pints next to Canterbury regulars who've been coming here for years, and neither group feels out of place. The late opening hours (2am weekends) mean it's become the default 'where shall we end up' spot, but it's equally solid for a Wednesday afternoon session.
