New Theatre

Head down Park Place and you'll find yourself in front of one of Cardiff's most impressive Victorian buildings. Inside, the New Theatre pulls in everyone from theatre regulars to first-timers—the kind of place where you're just as likely to catch a touring production of Hamilton as you are a stand-up comedy night or a ballet company. The main auditorium has proper character, with ornate boxes and a decent-sized stage that attracts proper touring productions. It's been a fixture since 1878, and it still feels like the place where Cardiff actually goes to get dressed up and have an evening out.
