Quantum Coffee Roasters

Walk into Quantum and you'll immediately clock the setup—this isn't your average coffee shop. They roast their own beans on-site, which means the smell alone is worth the trip down to Bute Street. The space has that pleasing industrial vibe without trying too hard: exposed brick, proper espresso machines, and staff who can talk you through single-origin Ethiopian or Brazilian without making you feel daft. You'll find regulars tucked in corners with laptops, but it never feels pretentious. Flat whites are consistently excellent, and they do a decent line in filter coffee if you want to sit with something proper.
