The Pier

Head down to Lower Upnor and you'll find The Pier doing what it does best: sitting right on the water with the kind of views that make you forget you're still in Medway. This is where locals actually want to be, not some Instagram-bait spot trying too hard. The menu's got proper substance—decent burgers, fish that doesn't taste like it's been frozen since last year, and ales that know what they're doing. Weather permitting, grab a spot outside and watch the boats drift past. It's unpretentious but it takes itself seriously enough to get things right.
