You walk in and it's like someone's raided a time machine—neon signs, arcade machines, and enough synth-pop blasting through the speakers to transport you straight back to 1987. It's not trying to be ironic about it either; this place genuinely loves the decade. The cocktail menu leans into the theme without being gimmicky, and the crowd here gets it—locals who want to have a proper night out without the pretence of some of the fancier spots closer to the railway station. East Laith Gate's got better lately, and Mavericks is doing its bit to make that corner of town worth the trip.
