Aoki Sushi Noodle Bar - Dublin
Proper Japanese flavours without the pretension, tucked away on Richmond Street South with sushi that actually tastes like it should.

You're walking down Richmond Street South, probably headed somewhere else entirely, when the unassuming shopfront catches your eye. Inside, it's all clean lines and warm wood, the kind of place where the focus is squarely on what's coming out of the kitchen rather than Instagram-worthy interiors.
The sushi here is the real deal – proper rice temperature, fish that's clearly been treated with respect, and none of that over-sauced nonsense you'll find elsewhere in the city centre. The ramen bowls are substantial enough to fuel you through a proper Dublin winter, and the gyoza arrive with that perfect crispy-bottom, tender-top contrast that's surprisingly hard to find done right. It's the sort of spot that's become a proper local favourite without shouting about it.
