You'll find yourself in what feels like a slice of 1940s New York, complete with dark wood panelling and that satisfying thud of leather banquettes as you slide into a booth. The bartenders here actually know their way around a proper Old Fashioned, and the jazz nights on weekends give the whole place a lovely speakeasy atmosphere without trying too hard. It's become a bit of a go-to for the office crowd from around St. Stephen's Green, which means it can get absolutely jammed after 6pm on weekdays. The cocktails are well-made without being fussy – think classic serves done properly rather than molecular gastronomy nonsense. Fair warning though: service can be patchy when they're slammed, and the music sometimes drowns out conversation entirely.
