Chai-Yo

Chai-Yo

Proper Thai flavours on Baggot Street that doesn't mess about with bland, westernised versions of the classics.

You'll smell the lemongrass and galangal before you even step through the door on Baggot Street. This isn't your typical Dublin Thai spot serving up watered-down curry - they actually know what they're doing here, with dishes that pack the kind of heat and complexity you'd hope for but rarely find. The dining room feels intimate without being cramped, and the service moves at a decent clip even when it's packed (which it often is, especially weekends). Their tom yum has proper depth, the green curry isn't afraid to bring the spice, and they don't scrimp on the fresh herbs. At around €18-25 for mains, it's fair value for Thai food that actually tastes like it should.
