Dolce Sicily
Proper Sicilian gelato and coffee that puts Temple Bar's tourist traps to shame, with cannoli that'll ruin you for anywhere else.

You'll smell the proper espresso before you even spot the narrow shopfront on Anne Street South. Inside, the display case packed with cannoli, arancini, and at least twelve flavours of gelato that changes daily will have you questioning every life choice that brought you here so late in the day. The Sicilian owners don't mess about – their pistachio gelato tastes like it was airlifted from Palermo this morning, and the cannoli shells are filled to order so they stay crisp.
It's cramped and there's usually a queue of Italians and clued-in locals, which tells you everything. Grab a proper macchiato and a slice of cassata, or go mad and get a gelato sandwich between two brioche halves. The staff will chat away in rapid Italian while scooping your gelato, and somehow that makes everything taste even better.
