You'll smell the spices before you even reach the door of this Ranelagh spot that's been quietly serving some of the best Pakistani and Indian food in Dublin. The dining room is nothing fancy – think warm lighting and straightforward decor – but that's exactly the point. All the effort goes into what comes out of the kitchen. The curries here have proper depth and heat levels that actually mean something. Their karahi dishes are particularly brilliant, arriving sizzling in traditional iron pans with that perfect char you get from proper high-heat cooking. The naan comes out of the tandoor with those lovely black spots, and their biryani is fragrant and generous. Service is sound – they know their menu inside out and aren't shy about recommending the spicier options if you can handle them.
