The Lombard

You'll spot The Lombard's dark frontage easily enough on Pearse Street, but what draws you in is the smell of proper cooking wafting onto the pavement. Inside, it's all exposed brick and warm lighting – the kind of place that works equally well for a pint after work or a Saturday night cocktail session. The menu strikes that sweet spot between gastropub ambition and actual substance. Their fish and chips comes with proper mushy peas, while the cocktail list shows they're serious about what goes into your glass. The staff know their stuff without being pushy about it, and the crowd is a decent mix of Trinity students, office workers, and locals who've been coming since it opened.
