La Querencia Leith Walk

You head down to Crighton Place just off Leith Walk expecting the usual Edinburgh restaurant experience, but then you walk into La Querencia and realise someone's actually bothered to do this properly. It's got that warm, convivial atmosphere you want when you're after a serious feed — exposed brick, ambient lighting, and enough of a buzz that it doesn't feel stuffy. The kitchen takes its beef seriously: charred outside, pink inside, dressed simply because it doesn't need messing about with. They know their way around a chimichurri too. Staff clearly give a damn, and the wine selection tilts properly Argentine rather than playing it safe.
