Rose Street's got no shortage of bars, but Roxy Lanes is the one that actually feels different. You'll descend into this unapologetically fun basement space, all neon lights and vintage Americana, where the main event is rolling strikes on proper lanes rather than nursing a pint at the bar. It's genuinely hard to find fault with the place — the bowling's smooth, the cocktails don't mess about (and neither do the prices, mind), and there's enough arcade cabinets dotted about to keep the evening interesting if someone in your group turns out to be rubbish at bowling. The crowd's a mix of date-nighters, groups of mates on a Friday, and the occasional stag do, but it never feels rammed or unpleasant.
