You can't argue with the location here – sitting right on Exeter's historic Quayside with the River Exe lapping practically at your feet. The terrace is genuinely lovely when the weather plays ball, and even inside you get those water views that make you forget you're in a city centre. The food is proper pub fare done well rather than anything revolutionary – think decent fish and chips, hearty pies, and Sunday roasts that'll sort you right out. It gets busy, especially at weekends when families descend for lunch and the riverside walk crowd pile in, but the service keeps things moving. The building itself has that converted warehouse charm that works perfectly down here by the water, and while it's not going to win any culinary awards, it delivers exactly what you want from a Quayside lunch spot.
