The Courtyard, Falkirk

You'll find yourself in one of Falkirk's better-kept drinking spots when you push through the door at The Courtyard. It's the kind of place where regulars actually know each other's names, not the forced bonhomie you get elsewhere. The setup itself is cosy without trying too hard—decent enough to settle in for an evening, genuine enough that you won't feel like you've wandered into a theme park version of a pub. It's exactly what Baxter's Wynd needed: somewhere you can grab a drink without pretence, catch up with mates, or just exist quietly with a pint. The crowd skews local, which is always a good sign.
