Head up to the golf club on Swanpool Road and you'll find yourself somewhere that actually deserves the view it's got. Above the Bay sits right where it says it does—literally overlooking the water—and they've smartly resisted doing much to distract from that. The restaurant takes itself seriously enough about the food without disappearing into itself; you get proper plates and a bar that isn't afraid of pouring a decent drink. What makes it work is that it manages to feel genuinely local despite being a proper events space and wedding venue. Families come here for lunch, couples settle in for dinner, and groups use it for the sort of celebration that doesn't require pretence.
