M&S café on Argyle Street does proper coffee and surprisingly decent food without the usual high street nonsense

You wouldn't normally think to meet someone at M&S for coffee, but the café tucked inside this Argyle Street flagship is genuinely sound. It's become my go-to when I'm shopping in the city centre and need somewhere reliable that won't take the piss with pricing or pretend to be something it's not.
The coffee's better than most chain places, and they do a proper breakfast roll that'll sort you right out. It's nothing fancy, but everything's fresh and they don't mess about with portion sizes. The seating upstairs gives you a decent view over Argyle Street's chaos, which is oddly satisfying when you're nursing a flat white. Plus, unlike half the independents round here, you can actually get a table without booking three weeks ahead.
