You know exactly why you're here at 2am on a Tuesday, clutching a tenner and trying to decide between nuggets or a Big Mac. This Cheapside McDonald's has seen it all – uni students cramming between lectures, families killing time before catching trains from the nearby station, and night shift workers grabbing breakfast at ungodly hours. The location is pretty decent for what it is, right in the heart of town near the bus station. Sure, it gets properly mental on weekend nights when the pubs chuck out, but that's half the entertainment. The staff deserve medals for putting up with the chaos, especially during Fresher's Week when the place becomes student central. It's not winning any culinary awards, but when you need hot chips and a McFlurry at 3am, nowhere else is even open.
