Quite Simply French - Restaurant with Rooms

Proper French cooking on the Quay with rooms upstairs—think coq au vin and duck confit done right, not faffed about.

You'll find yourself on St George's Quay, where the River Lune does its thing, and this place sits exactly where Lancaster's best bit happens. It's French without the pretension—the kind of restaurant where they actually care about butter, stock, and technique rather than making things look fancy for Instagram. Downstairs is all warm lighting and timber, upstairs you can stay the night if you've had too much wine (which you will). The menu changes seasonally but you're getting classical French bistro food that tastes like someone's grandmother taught them properly. On a decent evening, you'll watch the light hit the water whilst demolishing a proper cassoulet or sole meunière.
