Walk into Leicester Afro Caribbean Kitchen and you're instantly transported somewhere warmer and louder than the East Midlands. The kitchen doesn't mess about—you'll find stews that have been simmering properly, rice dishes that don't taste like they've been sitting under heat lamps, and jerk that actually has bite to it. London Road's got all sorts dotted along it, but this place stands out because it's not trying to be trendy or Instagram-friendly. It's genuinely good, genuinely busy, and genuinely worth the trip whether you're coming from the city centre or heading out towards Clarendon Park.
