Royal Liver Building 360 Tour

You'll take a lift straight up to the 15th floor of this grade I listed building, where floor-to-ceiling windows offer proper 360-degree views across the Mersey, out to the Wirral, and back over the city centre. The tour itself is pretty slick – interactive displays tell the building's story while you're up there, and you get to see the actual clock mechanism that's been ticking away since 1911. What makes this different from your average observation deck is getting inside one of the Liver Birds themselves. The views from up here beat anything else in the city, especially on a clear day when you can see right across to the Welsh hills. Book ahead though – they limit numbers so it never feels crowded, which means you can actually enjoy the experience rather than fighting for photo spots.
