Andy’s Greek Taverna

Proper Greek taverna on Pratt Street doing honest, generous food without pretension. The kind of place locals actually return to.

Walk into Andy's and you're immediately hit with that warm, slightly chaotic energy of a proper neighbourhood taverna. It's all worn wooden tables, stripped-back walls, and the kind of noise level that tells you people are actually enjoying themselves rather than performing for Instagram. You'll find yourself wedged between families ordering plates of saganaki and couples sharing a whole grilled fish, all nursing glasses of retsina like it's going out of fashion. The menu doesn't overcomplicate things—just honest Greek cooking done well. Meatballs, grilled octopus, spanakopita, moussaka—the classics executed with enough care that you remember why they became classics in the first place. Service moves at taverna pace (which is to say, properly relaxed), and at around ££ for a full meal with wine, it doesn't feel like you're being fleeced for eating somewhere this unpretentious.
