You walk into Annab and immediately get that feeling of a place that's been doing the same thing well for years without needing to shout about it. It's the kind of spot locals have probably been quietly going to whilst the rest of the city chases the new thing. The room itself has that unhurried French brasserie energy—comfortable banquettes, decent lighting, the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself talk but there's enough gentle buzz that it doesn't feel empty. The cooking is straightforward and confident: they're not trying to reinvent cassoulet or sole meunière, they're just executing them properly, which honestly is rarer than it should be. For Fulham, where the restaurant scene can sometimes feel a bit try-hard, this is genuinely refreshing.
